Catherine Daly – Director of What About Play

Catherine Daly is an Occupational Therapist with over 18 years of clinical experience working with children and families. Catherine is qualified to provide specialist assessment and intervention for infants, children and adolescents with psychosocial, mental health, developmental, academic and functional self-care difficulties. As part of her therapy work, Catherine helps parents to facilitate more meaningful interactions with their children.

Catherine is committed to providing a high level of clinical assessment and intervention using a variety of theoretical approaches to work with families in a compassionate, responsive and thoughtful manner.

Catherine has a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health in the field of psychotherapy.  She has her certification in Circle of Security Assessment and Treatment Planning (Level 1). Catherine is a registered Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Occupational Therapist Board of Australia), and is a member of Occupational Therapy Australia and the Australian Association for Infant Mental Health. Catherine is registered to provide services under the Federal Government’s Better Access to Mental Health, Helping Children with Autism and Chronic Disease Management initiatives.

Catherine has specific experience in:

  • Individual child and parent therapy sessions focusing on specific psychosocial, emotional or mental health concerns
  • Joint parent and child therapy sessions focusing on relationship struggles and strengths
  • Group therapy sessions with parents and children targeting specific psychosocial, emotional or mental health concerns
  • Developmental/Learning sessions involving assessment, school/professional liaison, and intervention
